In a major shocker just minutes into the opening round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears swapped spots with the San Francisco 49ers to take Mitch Trubisky at number two overall.
I really don’t know what to make of this move by the Chicago Bears. In case you missed it, the Bears traded a bunch of picks to move up and select Mitch Trubisky.
Bears traded 3rd/4th/2018 3rd to SF to move up one place to get….Mitchell Trubisky.

That’s a lot of picks to move up just one spot. There has been some rumors that the Bears drafted Trubisky just to make a trade with Cleveland, but nothing is known at this point. Honestly, this a shocking move. Why would the Bears move up if the 49ers were going to take Solomon Thomas all along?
The Bears didn’t have their quarterback of the future and they just got that in Trubisky. He will be an ideal situation to sit behind Mike Glennon. Again, the problem with this move is that the Bears gave up a HUGE amount of picks.
This was a shocking move by Ryan Pace and company. I can’t stress that enough. Hopefully, things will become more clear as the night goes on. Stay tuned for the latest Bears news tonight, and a deep dive analysis of the second overall selection, Mitch Trubisky.
