Bears Rapid Reaction: Ryan Pace Pulls off Another Trade on Night Two, Snags a TE

Many were criticizing Ryan Pace for parting ways with so many drafts picks to move up just one spot and select Mitch Trubisky. Well, Pace got most of those picks back with a trade with the Arizona Cardinals in the opening minutes of night two of the 2017 NFL Draft.

With the 45th pick in the draft, the Bears took tight end Adam Shaheen out of Ashland College (DII). This was a surprising pick to most, but Shaheen is one of the most intriguing prospects in this year’s class.

At 6’6″ and 278 pounds, Shaheen will be a big time red zone threat in the NFL. Last season, he had 16 touchdowns in just 11 games. Again, he is a great athlete but has some work to do in terms of football knowledge. This pick was a reach for Ryan Pace and company. It is obvious that there plan is to take the best athletes available.

Check out some of Shaheen’s highlights below, and stay tuned for our day two grades, and day three needs story near the conclusion of the third round this evening.

He has run his own website, been featured on Bleacher Report, and tried to sell his soul on eBay (which he hasn’t gotten back). He hopes to one day see his beloved Bears win the Super Bowl and is still trying to figure out why Jay Cutler gets so much hate.
