The Chicago Bears didn’t address the defensive line in the draft, but that didn’t stop them from adding some depth.
Last season, Howard played in eight games for the Kansas City Chiefs, recording 23 tackles and a sack. In November, he suffered a hip injury that kept him out the rest of the year.
The Chiefs cut him in April. Usually, free agent signings in May don’t come with much interest, but this move is something to keep an eye on.
Howard, 28, is a 6-foot-3, 301-pound force that can play multiple positions along the defensive line. Vic Fangio will love the versatility Howard brings to the table.
Terms of the deal are not known at the moment.
