Bears Hold on to Connor Shaw after Sanchez Injury

Remember when the Chicago Bears waived quarterback Connor Shaw? Yea, that isn’t true anymore.

Despite announcing the team had released him to open a roster spot for Victor Cruz, it turns out the Shaw is still on the Bears roster and it most likely has something to do with the injury that Mark Sanchez suffered into today’s practice.

For now, Shaw will remain with the Bears and get some time during OTAs. His days in Chicago are at best limited. If Mark Sanchez, Mike Glennon, or Mitch Trubisky end up getting injured at any point in 2017 Shaw will be the guy the Bears bring in just in case more injuries happen.

Shaw may have a hard time finding another team willing to sign him given his injury history. The Bears roster is at 90, but it will go down to 53 at some point.

For now, it seems like Shaw and the Bears are destined to be together.

He hopes to one day see his beloved Bears win the Super Bowl and is still trying to figure out why Jay Cutler gets so much hate.
