White Sox: Weekly Farm Report, August 6-9

This week on the farm featured more postponed games, tough losses, and Luis Robert's return to the Dash. Sean Williams fills you in on everything that happened in the White Sox farm system this week.

It was a quiet week on the farm with more postponed games and the Great Falls Voyagers were off until Thursday because of the All-Star break. There was a big announcement involving Luis Robert ending his rehab assignment in the AZL and rejoining the Winston-Salem Dash. Let’s take a look at everything that happened in the farm this week:

Charlotte Knights

The Charlotte Knights were off on Monday. Eloy Jimenez was still battling the flu and was out of Tuesday’s game. His presence was missed as the Knights were only able to generate two hits in Tuesday’s contest and they went on to lose 2-0 to the Syracuse Chiefs. Here are some of the performances from the game:

On Wednesday, the Knights would get through five innings before the game was suspended and resumed on Thursday. This gave them a double header on the day, that ended in a split between both teams. Here are some of the performances from the first game, which the Knights won 2-1:

The Knights saw themselves down 3-0 in the second game on Thursday which was shortened to seven innings. They would put two runs on the board in the sixth inning, but would be unable to get anymore, losing to the Syracuse Chiefs 3-2. Here are some of the performances from the second game:

Charlotte ends their week with an overall record of 52-61. They have wrapped up their road series with the Syracuse Chiefs and will continue to stay on the road, heading to Rochester to face the Red Wings in a three-game series.

Birmingham Barons

The Birmingham Barons finished their series with the Mobile BayBears on Monday. They got their week started with a 6-4 win and were ahead throughout the entire contest. That’s a productive Monday if you ask me. Here are some of the performances from the win:

Tuesday was an off day for the Barons. On Wednesday, they lost a heart breaker in the series opener against the Montgomery Biscuits. It was a scoreless game until the sixth inning when the Biscuits pulled ahead by one run, eventually winning 1-0. Here are some of the performances from the game:

The Barons found themselves in a much different game on Thursday. Unfortunately, they were on the wrong end of a high scoring affair. The Barons and the Biscuits went back and forth on Thursday night, but the Barons ended up losing 10-7. Here are some of the performances from the game:

The Barons wrap up their week with an overall record of 55-60. They will continue their five-game road series against the Biscuits during the weekend.

Winston-Salem Dash

The Winston-Salem Dash had the most exciting week and the team only played two games. They won both of them, but the big news was that Luis Robert rejoined the team on Tuesday. The Dash got their week started with a 6-3 victory over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Here are some of the performances from the game:

Tuesday was the exciting day for the Dash. It was a day where White Sox fans got to see a variety of the team’s top prospects in the same lineup. The Dash picked up a 3-2 win over the Pelicans on Tuesday, in a game where they had the lead the entire time. Here are some of the performances from the game:

The Winston-Salem Dash complete their successful week with an overall record of 68-45. The team struggled at the end of July, but has turned it around since then and looks like the impressive team they have been all season long. The Dash will open up a three-game home series against the Potomac Nationals as they look to continue their winning ways.

Kannapolis Intimidators

The Intimidators had a rough week, losing all three of the games they played. Monday was a scheduled off day for the club. On Tuesday, they opened up the week with a 3-0 loss to the Hickory Crawdads. Here are some of the performances from the game:

On Wednesday, their game was postponed, giving them two seven inning games against the Crawdads on Thursday. In game one, the Intimidators fell 4-2. Here are some of the performances from the first game:

In game two, the Crawdads jumped out to an early 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Intimidators were unable to answer, losing this one 1-0 in seven innings. Here are some of the performances from the second game:

The Intimidators end their week with an overall record of 62-50. Despite the week long struggles, the team still has an impressive record. The Intimidators will head off to Lexington for a four-game road series against the Legends.

Great Falls Voyagers

The Great Falls Voyagers had a short week of work, only playing one game due to the All-Star break. In their lone game of the week, they won 11-7 against the Idaho Falls Chukars. It was an exciting game in which the Voyagers were down 6-1 at one point. Here are some of the performances from the game:

  • Romy Gonzalez: 1-5, HR, 2 RBI
  • Amado Nunez: 2-5, 3B, 2 RBI
  • Gunnar Troutwine: 1-2, 2 RBI, 2 BB
  • Travis Moniot: 3-4, 2 RBI

After only playing one game, the Great Falls Voyagers finish their week with an overall record of 24-26. Since the team was off until Thursday, the Voyagers will continue their four-game series with Idaho Falls throughout the rest of the weekend.

AZL White Sox

On Monday, the AZL White Sox had a scheduled off day. They hosted the AZL Indians 1 on Tuesday. After leading throughout most of the game, the Indians 1 pulled away in the seventh inning, beating the White Sox 9-6. Here are some of the performances from the game:

The AZL White Sox added a new bat to their lineup on Wednesday with the addition of Tito Polowho began a rehab assignment in the AZL. The White Sox earned a 3-0 victory over the AZL Royals on Wednesday night thanks to a combined two hit game on the mound. Here are some of the performances from the win:

On Wednesday, the AZL White Sox hosted the AZL Rangers in what was a back and forth contest, until the AZL White Sox scored in the fifth, sixth, and seventh inning, eventually pulling away and winning 7-5. Here are some of the performances from the victory:

  • Tito Polo: HR, RBI, 2 BB
  • Ty Greene: 2-4, 2B, RBI, BB
  • Lency Delgado: 1-3, 2 RBI
  • Jimmy Galusky: 1-4, HR, RBI
  • Anderson Comas: 2-3, BB
  • Aaron Soto: 3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

The AZL White Sox improve to an overall record of 21-20 after this week. The team will travel to Goodyear as they look to get some revenge against the AZL Indians 1 tonight.
