Now that week 10 of the NFL season is almost over, we have just two games left on the slate. The Sunday night game will be the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles. This game doesn’t scream “fantasy goodness,” but there are some different things you can do to differentiate from the rest of the field.
This cheat will be short and geared toward the Showdown slate on DraftKings. Now, that doesn’t mean you can’t use the same plays I suggest in this article on similar contests on Fan Duel or other DFS sites.
I’ll leave this here as well:
Note: I’m more of a GPP player, so the players I list may have a really high upside, along with a greater amount of risk. Keep that in mind when plugging these players into your lineup.
Let’s get into it.
Player to lock in: Amari Cooper
On these slates, we want to lock in certain players that A) have the most upside and B) see the most amount of usage.
Coming off of his first game as a Cowboy, wide receiver Amari Cooper should see his usage skyrocket on Sunday night. The Cowboys can’t afford to lose this game, so we can expect they will do whatever they can to win. That means targeting Cooper as much as possible.
While I fully expect the Eagles to run away with this game, the Cowboys will have to play catchup, meaning they will have to throw the ball a lot at some point in this one. So for me, it will be Cooper > Zeke.
Cooper is also a viable option for what is known as the captain’s spot on DK. It’s the player in your line up that gets 1.5 more points on any fantasy scoring. On Monday night, Cooper targeted eight times. He caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Look for the Cowboys to feed Cooper tonight, especially in the red zone.
Sneaky GPP Plays: Dallas Goedert/Josh Adams
Let’s start with Josh Adams.
The former Notre Dame running back may get some opportunities after Darren Sproles reinjured his hamstring in practice. Yes, the Eagles still have Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood. However, Clement is battling an illness, so who knows if he will be 100% against the Cowboys.
Adams is very risky, but also very cheap. He will allow you to pay up for Carson Wentz, Zach Ertz, and Cooper.
Goedert is another high risk play, but Carson Wentz loves his and more importantly, looks for him in the red zone. Your high risk players should be somewhat touchdown dependent. That is exactly what Goedert is tonight.
If you’re into fading Ertz, lock in Goedert.
