It’s almost time to officially welcome back fantasy football season!
Now that The Chalk is officially back on The Loop Sports we will be rolling out a ton of content before and during the NFL season. That starts today with my July rankings of QBs. You will find seven tiers. Why seven? It’s my favorite number that I’m convinced is lucky.
At the end of the rankings, you will also find “quick notes” on why certain players are where they are and sleepers I have I’m targeting. Keep in mind I’m not a huge numbers guy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t utilize them.
The eye test is much more important to me, along with my gut feeling. I am the most comfortable making decisions when using those two things. Make sure you also subscribe to our podcast as well. There will be a lot of exclusive content on there.
-There’s a reason that Mitch Trubisky’s MVP odds went from 250-1 to 50-1 in the last couple of months. Sure, there are a lot of Bears’ fans biased towards him, but big things are expected from Trubisky, who I love in Best Ball contests as well as all other fantasy football formats in 2019. With that being said, I did move him out of my top 5…Baker Mayfield has too much upside to be behind Trubisky.
-Kyler Murray could easily be a top 10 fantasy QB in 2019. He has the coach and young weapons around him to do it. He also can use his legs, which could turn into rushing TDs. Tier three may feel like a stretch for Murray, but the supporting cast is there.
-Rushing ability = more fantasy production. Sign me up for Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, any other QBs that can run the football. Those of the type of players you should be targeting in your draft, not Aaron Rodgers in the third round.
